Ben Connor is a Contract Shepherd who works with ALL flocks no matter how large or small to optimise sheep health, husbandry and ultimately production! His services include (but aren't limited to):

Pasture Optimisation Advice

The ability to maximise the grazing available to maintain the flock and to finish lambs is essential.

Understanding the grazing available and how best to utilise this is key. Optimising grazing through the use of modern grazing techniques will limited need for additional feed sources, and reduce expenses.

The option of growing other forage crops can be explored to extend the grazing season and introduce other sources of nutrients to optimise flock performance.

Weighing, Recording & Drafting Sheep

Ben is able to assist with body condition scoring, weighing and drafting of your flock for sale or slaughter.

Correct drafting will optimise profit!

Flock Management

Ben works with farmers and small holders to provide a service to purchase a sheep enterprise - selecting the stock based on land/grazing and requirements. Ben will set up the enterprise, discuss with the owner the husbandry requirements and implement.
